This session will highlight the connection between DEIB and environmental, health and safety (EHS) and maximizing this connection to elevate an organization’s environmental, health and safety leaders and its program.

Kahlilah Guyah is the CEO, Founder, and Principal Consultant at EHS Compliance Services Inc. (EHSCSI) where she leads a team of EHS professionals. For nearly a decade, EHSCSI has helped organizations from a variety of industry sectors including medical devices, biotechnology, automotive, and food and wine develop and implement strategies to manage compliance and mitigate risks. EHSCSI was featured in the New York Times as one of the “100 Black-Owned Businesses You’ll Love” beginning in May of 2021!
Kahlilah is an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Consultant, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and a speaker with over 20 years of comprehensive experience. She helps organizations develop, implement and leverage their EHS programs to deliver business value and elevate brand reputation.
She partnered with Oracle Corporation as a subject matter expert to develop an occupational, health, and safety software solution that is currently available for purchase. She has served as an auditor to more than 25 manufacturers and laboratories for compliance with applicable EHS regulations, including Tesla Motors, Sipi Asset Recovery, Codman Neurovascular, Bonneville Labs, Potrero Medical and Benvenue Medical. One of her most notable projects included a two-year tenure at Medtronic Corporation (formerly HeartWare) where she reduced over $1M in potential regulatory fines and designed and implemented the site’s first EHS program.
In January 2020, Kahlilah was featured in the inaugural edition of the EHS Daily Advisor’s Faces of EHS and she is also the recipient of the Edward M. “Ed” Stratton Memorial Health Safety & Environment Professional Education Grant. She is a professional member of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) and is the proud graduate of both Pennsylvania State University and Emory University where she received graduate and undergraduate degrees in Chemistry, respectively.
A champion for EHS integration, Kahlilah is a highly-sought speaker on including Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Mental Health into EHS Management Systems. She has delivered talks for ASSP, the Safety Center, the Cal/OSHA Summit, EHS Today and VelocityEHS and been a panelist for the National Safety Council. She is the host of the LinkedIn Live show “Connecting the Dots,” which is also a primary focus of the work she is most passionate about–integrating EHS excellence into daily business operations.
Kahlilah is excited about leveraging the unique opportunity provided by the COVID-19 pandemic to incorporate mental health, diversity, equity, and inclusion into the EHS programs of her clients and EHS professionals to further enhance the business case for environmental, health, and safety within organizations.
